Command Sergeant Major Blair entered the Army on October 1, 1986. He attended One Stop Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia where he completed Infantry Basic and Advanced Individual Training. Command Sergeants Major Blair reclassified into CMF 93 in 1988 and attended Air Traffic Control Advanced Individual Training.

 

Command Sergeants Major Blair's assignments include 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade, Hunter Army Airfield; HQ USAREUR/7A, G3 Aviation Division; 3-58th Aviation Regiment, Germany; 1st Battalion, 11th Aviation Regiment, FT Rucker, AL; 4-58th Aviation Battalion, Republic of Korea; 1-502D Infantry Regiment at FT Campbell, KY.

 

His education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He is a graduate of United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course CMF 93, a graduate of the Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course CMF 93 and a graduate of Primary Leadership Development Course. He is also a graduate of the Air Assault Course, Air Force Joint Ground Operations Course, the Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, the Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Course, and the Unit Armorer Course.

 

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Achievement Medal (6th Oak Leaf Cluster), the Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4),the Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Kuwait), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award and the Meritorious Unit Commendation.
