Vision for the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, and Kelley Hill

  • A rock-hard, disciplined outfit, ready for any mission but always looking for a fight
  • Composed of Soldiers who are the envy of others - recognizable everywhere for their confidence, courtesy, bearing, appearance, and fighting ability
  • Supported by well-informed and fiercely independent Families, visibly proud to be a part of the Division and associated with their post, who know how to take care of themselves and each other - and are committed to do so
  • All home-based in garrisons run by tenacious Army Civilians, Soldiers, and Contractors, who fight to maintain model outposts of pride and military tradition, and who are only satisfied with the highest standard of support

Command Philosophy

  • Live the Warrior Ethos 24x7
    • It is our standard of behavior, in Garrison and deployed, for Soldiers and Army Civilians
  • Train to competence and confidence
    • This will drive how long you train, the priorities of tasks, and what resources you need. Remember, there's a difference between competence and confidence... Seek both and train to achieve both based on your mission and conditions
  • Raise the next generation of Soldiers, Army Civilians, and Army Families
    • Care for them, empower them to take care of themselves, help them grow in this institution, apply the customs and traditions of regiments in this Division and the Army, and teach unit histories and involve veterans -- all efforts made in the hope they will be encouraged to stay
