CONTAINER HANDLING FACILITY

The Container Handling Facility (CHF) manages, inspects, repairs and issues an inventory of CSC certified containers to support unit deployments. Containers are issued upon notification of deployment and are returned to the CHF upon the unit’s return. CHF personnel will coordinate for delivery and pickup of containers with unit representatives. The CHF also tracks the movement of containers to designated Ports of Embarkation and is responsible for loading and unloading of containers from commercial trucks.

DEPARTURE ARRIVAL AIRFIELD CONTROL GROUP (DAACG)

DOL, Transportation Division provides the Departure/Arrival Airfield Control Group (DAACG) supporting deploying and redeploying flights through the Truscott Air Terminal on Hunter Army Airfield. DAACG personnel coordinate and direct the manifesting, baggage/cargo and passenger loading and unloading operations for commercial and military aircraft arriving and departing from Hunter Army Airfield. DAACG personnel also provide unit training in preparation of equipment for air movement and building of 463L pallet loads. To schedule training, please call 912-767-3315/2159.

Freight Movements coordinate shipment of Government equipment, freight and small packages by commercial truck, rail, FEDEX, UPS and other commercial freight carriers for activities and units on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.

RAIL MOVEMENTS

Primary rail upload/download operations are conducted at the Rail Marshalling Area (RMA), located on FS Road 38, Fort Stewart. Rail movements are coordinated through the Chief, Deployment Operations/Unit Movement Coordinator. Unit Rail Load Team Training is also provided. To schedule training, call 912-767-2159 or 2825.

TRANSPORTATION MOTORPOOL (TMP)

The Installation Transportation Motor pool (TMP) provides non-tactical vehicle support to units and activities on Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The TMP fleet consists of GSA leased vehicles and support must be requested in advance and support is subject to availability.

Unit Movement

The Unit Movement Coordinator (UMC) is the primary point of contact between the deploying unit, the installation and other commands for overall deployment transportation support. The UMC reviews, validates, and ensures each supported unit maintains current Unit Movement Data (UMD) on file with FORSCOM IAW FORSCOM/ARNG Regulation 55-2.

DEPLOYMENT OPERATIONS

The Deployment Operations Branch of Transportation Division is responsible for all Unit Movement by rail, charter and commercial air, charter bus and convoys to/from Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield. Deployment Operations maintains and provides assistance and training in TCAIMS II to develop Organizational Equipment Lists (OELs) and Unit Deployment Lists (UDL) and Radio Frequency Tags for all division and non-division activities. Deployment Operations also provides Unit Movement training in Railcar Loading and Tiedown, Vehicle Preparation and 463L Pallet Building for Air Movements, as well as airload planning assistance.
