Fort Stewart Human Resources - Employment Opportunities - How to apply
How to apply for Department of the Army civilian vacancies

General Information:
The Resume process, the application process, the referral process, and the status of the jobs you apply for are all automated processes. Army uses one centralized automated system called RESUMIX to fill vacancies. Your resume must be loaded into the Centralized RESUMIX database. All vacancies are advertised on the web and you can self-nominate (APPLY) for a vacancy while viewing the vacancy on-line. An automated system called ANSWER can be accessed to verify that your resume is in the RESUMIX database, view the jobs you have applied for, and view the status of the jobs you’ve applied for.

(Changes in Veterans’ Preference Entitlement – Update of Supplemental Data in RESUMIX may be required.)

Steps to follow:

Information on how to apply:
Go to star  http://cpol.army.mil. Click on Employment, then How to Apply. Read the information and the answers to the questions on this link.

Your resume must be loaded into the Army resumix database.
(Army does not use the USAJOBS resume to fill vacancies). Create your resume and verify it is in the RESUMIX database - web site: star  http://cpol.army.mil. Click on Employment and then Build a Resume/View Status. Register as a user and log in. Click on ‘Resume Builder Instructions' for more information on building your resume.

There are four menu links:
- Create/Edit Resume - You will have access to screens for building and saving a draft of your resume. - Create/Edit Supplemental Data - You will be asked specific questions that you will have to answer and save. - Submit Resume and Supplemental Data – You must submit resume and supplemental data to the RESUMIX database. - ANSWER - Use this link to verify your resume is in the RESUMIX database. If you cannot view your resume in ANSWER, then it is not in the RESUMIX database.

Resumix Applicant Help Inquiries
Applicants who apply for Army vacancy announcements and have questions about application procedures, status of resumes, qualification determinations, etc., must submit an inquiry to the Central Applicant Help (applicanthelp@cpsrxtp.belvoir.army.mil). In order to process the inquiry, the applicant must provide specific information concerning the nature of the inquiry to include their name, last four digits of their social security number (SSN) and vacancy announcement number.

For inquiries relating to qualification determinations, the applicant must provide specific information indicating why it is believed the original decision was improper; provide specific justification to support the claim that they meet the qualification criteria described on the announcement, and any other pertinent information that will support the request and enable the reviewing office to reevaluate the decision. Inquiries lacking specific information will be returned to the applicant.

Central Resume Processing Center (CRPC) staff will respond directly to applicant inquiries regarding application procedures, processes, and status of applications for specific vacancy announcements.

For inquiries relating to qualification determinations or other questions that cannot be addressed appropriately, inquiry will be forwarded to the appropriate South Central CPOC for response. The CRPC staff will notify the applicant that the inquiry has been forwarded to the South Central CPOC and that a reply can be expected shortly. The CRPC staff members should either respond directly to the applicant or forward the inquiry to the South Central CPOC within two business days of receipt in the CRPC.

South Central CPOC staff will respond directly to applicant inquiries that have been forwarded to them by the CRPC. The CPOC staff members should respond directly to the applicant within four business days of receipt in the CPOC. If the inquiry is complex and expected to take longer than four business days to complete, an interim response should be provided directly to the applicant within the four day standard. The South Central CPOC will forward any inquiries regarding local environmental issues to the Fort Stewart Civilian Personnel Advisory Center for response. The CPAC staff members will respond directly to the applicant within four business days of receipt in the CPAC.

Depending upon the reconsideration decision, if it is determined that an applicant should have been rated qualified and referred to management for consideration, the applicant’s resume should be immediately added to appropriate referral lists or delegated examining certificates, if still outstanding, or grant the applicant priority consideration for the next appropriate vacancy.

Note:
Each time you send your resume to the RESUMIX database, your previous resume is replaced.

Search for job vacancies and self-nominate (APPLY):
Web sites: star  http://cpol.army.mil or star  http://www.usajobs.opm.gov. Army vacancies that are open to applicants who are not current Army civilian employees will now be posted on the CPOL web site as well as the USAJOBS web site. You can apply from either site. Click on ‘Search for Jobs’. Search and view vacancy announcements on-line. If you find a vacancy that you want to apply for and you meet the requirements spelled out in the ‘ Who Can Apply’ section of the announcement, scroll down to the bottom of the vacancy. You should see links for ‘Resume’ and ‘Self-Nominate’. If you have not loaded your resume into the Army Centralized RESUMIX database, then click on Resume, else you can click on the ‘Self-Nominate’ link, complete the information required, and submit. (Suggest that you print a copy of the announcement and the response you get when you submit your self-nomination).

Verify that your self-nomination has been received and the status of your self-nomination:
Web site: star  http://cpol.army.mil. Click on Employment, then Build a Resume/View Status. Log in as a registered user. Click on link for ANSWER. (Normally you should see your self-nomination in ANSWER on the same day that you submit it.). Once the announcement is closed and the referral process has been completed, within ANSWER you can view the status of the job you applied for (e.g. referred, not qualified, etc.). If you have questions about the status of a self-nomination, use the Send Mail tab within ANSWER to submit questions or send email to ApplicantHelp@cpsrxtp.belvoir.army.mil.
