Henry (Paul) Stuart is a native of Macon, Mississippi. He received a commission in the Infantry upon graduation from Mississippi State University in 1972. He earned a Master of Arts Degree in National Security & Strategic Studies from the Naval War College. He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, the United States Army Command and General Staff College, the Naval Post Graduate School, the School of Advanced Military Studies and the Naval War College.
Mr. Stuart served almost 30 years in the Army, holding a variety of command and staff positions, to include 6 overseas military tours. He commanded 5-20th Infantry (Mechanized) in the 2d Infantry Division in Korea. Upon his retirement from active duty in 2002, he served as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander for USAG Humphreys from November 2002 – February 2004, Operations Officer for IMA-Korea from February 2004 – February 2006, Deputy G5 for 5th Army/ARNORTH from February 2006 – July 2007, Operations and Plans Officer for IMCOM-Korea from August 2007 – August 2010, and Deputy to the Garrison Commander for USAG-Yongsan from August 2010 – October 2015. He assumed his current position as the Fort Stewart Deputy to the Garrison Commander on 1 January 2016.
