Welcome to the 188th Infantry Brigade!
We are a team of ‘Battle Ready’ observer coach/trainers who help our Reserve and National Guard partner units maintain mission readiness. As an OC/T, you will facilitate the training of units across the Southeast, including here on Fort Stewart. We have eleven battalions, five reserve (located at Forts Jackson, Fort Gillem and Fort Gordon) and six active duty battalions (all located on Fort Stewart). Regardless of your MOS, there is a place for you here in the 188th!

If you don’t already have a sponsor, contact our S-1 section at 912-435-8637, to be paired with a Soldier who can help you with your PCS.

To expedite in-processing to the unit, we ask that you complete the following certificates. Please ensure that your DoD Cyber-Awareness Challenge training is up-to-date, available online at https://ia.signal.army.mil/dodiaa/default.asp. The attached in-processing checklist highlights some training that you can complete beforehand. Also, prior to leaving your old unit, make sure you:

1. Clear your Government Travel Card (S-8), if you have one,
2. Have your S-2 clear you from the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), and
3. Have your S-6 fully out-process you. These three sections will help with a smooth transition.
Upon arrival to Fort Stewart, you will sign in to the Marne Reception Center, where you will in-process the installation for 7-8 days. The in-processing serves as a way to welcome you and your family to the Fort Stewart and Hinesville area, as well as familiarize you with the agencies and services on post that will help make your transition easier.
To get to the MRC, enter Gate 1, take a right at the first stoplight onto E. Bultman Ave, take a left onto Pony Soldier Avenue and the building will be on your right. (The address is Marne Reception Center, 486 Pony Soldier Ave, Fort Stewart, Ga 31314, if you want to plug it into your navigation system) Parking is located behind the MRC. If you have not already secured housing, you can contact the IHG Army Lodging facility on-post at 304 Coe Ave, Fort Stewart, Ga, 31315, or stay at one of the hotels in the local area.
Hinesville, Richmond Hill, and Savannah are rich in history, and are military friendly. Other communities that our military personnel make their home include: Jesup, Walthourville, Allenhurst, Midway, Ludowici, Glennville, and Pembroke.
If you and your family wish to reside on-post, the Fort Stewart Housing office can be reached at 855-623-7865.
During your in-processing, please stop by 188th Infantry Brigade and let us know you have arrived. We are located off Hwy 144E (next to Bits and Bridle Equestrian Club). We also have a battalion area located at 1239 East Harmon Ave, Bldg 9592 (across the street from Donovan Field). If at any time you have problems in-processing or have questions, please contact our Staff Duty Desk at 912-432-8072.
