Robert W. Matthews

Lieutenant Colonel Robert W. Matthews is a native of Andalusia, AL. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1993.  In 1999, he was commissioned through Officer Candidate School as an Engineer Officer and later received a branch transfer to the Military Police Corps. He graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.

He attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course in 1999 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. In 2002, he attended the Military Police Captain’s Career Course and received his Master of Arts in Business and Organizational Security Management from Webster’s University. In 2003, he attended the Combined Arms and Services Staff School (CAS3). In 2008, he attended the Command and General Staff College. In 2009, he graduated from the Federal Bureau Investigation National Academy, Quantico, VA.

His assignments include Military Police Gunner and Driver, 127th Military Police Company, Frankfurt/Hanau, Germany; Team leader, Squad Leader and Operations Sergeant, A/MPA, Fort Rucker, Al; Platoon Leader, 2D Engineer Battalion, Camp Castle, Korea; Executive Officer, B Company, 795th Military Police Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Company Commander, 170th Military Police Company, Fort Lewis, WA; Small Group Leader, Military Police Captain’s Career Course, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Battalion Executive Officer, 95th Military Police Battalion, Mannheim/Sembach, Germany; Brigade S3, 18th Military Police Brigade, Sembach, Germany; Assistant Executive Officer to the Provost Marshal General of the Army, Washington D.C.; Military Police Organizational Integrator G-3/7, Washington D.C.; Executive Officer to the Director of Force Management G-3/7, Washington D.C.; Deputy Commander, 3D Military Police Group (CID), Hunter Army Airfield, GA.

His deployments were Operation Joint Endeavor/Task Force Eagle (1995), Operation Iraqi Freedom 04-05, Baghdad, Iraq, and Operation Enduring Freedom 10-11, Bagram Afghanistan.

 Jeffrey L. Baker

Command Sergeant Major Jeffrey L. Baker entered the military in July 1996. He attended both Basic and advanced individual training at Ft. McClellan, Alabama.

His positions and assignments include: gunner and driver in the 272d Military Police Company, Mannheim, Germany; Team Leader, Squad Leader 65th Military Police Company(ABN), Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Squad Leader, 289thMP Co. (TOG), Fort Myer, Virginia; Squad Leader, Provost Sergeant, Fort Myer, Virginia; Drill Sergeant, Senior Drill Sergeant, C Co. 228th IN Regiment, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; Operations Sergeant and Platoon Sergeant, 55th Military Police Company, Camp Casey, Korea; Observer Controller Trainer, First Sergeant, A. Co. 3/338th IN Regt, Camp Atterbury, Indiana; Operations Sergeant Major, 91stMilitary Police Battalion, Fort Drum, New York; Operations Sergeant Major, 8th Military Police Brigade,Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; Directorate of Emergency Services Sergeant Major for USAG-HI. He has two deployments to the Balkans including one to Bosnia as a gunner/driver with the 272th MP Company, and one to Kosovo, one as a Squad Leader with the 65th MP Company (ABN). He also has one deployment to Iraq, as the First Sergeant of A Co 3/338 IN REGT in support of Task Force Iron Claw.

Command Sergeant Major Baker graduated from numerous military schools including the Army Master Combatives Level 4 Instructor Course, Unarmed Self Defense Instructor Course, NonLethal Weapons Instructor Course, IMCOM Director Of Emergency Services Course, Basic Airborne Course, Drill Sergeant School, Domestic Violence Intervention Training, Combat Lifesaver Course, Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Conventional Physical Security Crime Prevention Course, Antiterrorism Force Protection Level 2,the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy First Sergeant Course, and is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 63). He has a Bachelor of Art's degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University, and a Master's degree in Management and Organizational Leadership from Excelsior College.

Command Sergeant Major Baker's awards include: the Meritorious Service Medal (fourth award), the Army Commendation Medal (third award), the Army Achievement Medal (third award), the Army Good Conduct Medal (sixth award), the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Kosovo Campaign Medal (with one Bronze Service Star), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (with one Bronze Service Star), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, the Meritorious Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (with numeral four), the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral two) the NATO Medal (with one Bronze Service Star), the Army Superior Unit Award, the Drill Sergeant Badge, Driver's Badge with Wheel Device, the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (bronze), and the Parachutist Badge. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Military Police "Order of the Marechaussee" (Bronze).
