Fort Stewart has been open to public hunting and fishing since 1959 and provides some of the finest recreation in southeast Georgia! (Fort Stewart is the second largest single public hunting and fishing entity in the state...only second the the Chattahoochee National Forest.)

All anglers fishing the installation must possess a valid Georgia fishing license and the appropriate Fort Stewart fishing permit. Annual and daily permits are available. The Annual fishing permit is good for one year from the date of purchase.

All proceeds from the sale of hunting and fishing permits go back into the installation's fish and game management program.
