Mission: The Records Holding Area (RHA) will continually strive to maintain the preservation of record information as required by Federal statute which is necessary to protect the legal and financial rights of the Government and persons directly affected by the Government's activities. In February 2005, the Secretary of the Army directed "...leaders to make the preservation of official records a matter of personal interest."
Services: The RHA serves as the liaison between the installation and the Department of the Army and assist elements with the identification of records, the indexing and storage of long-term and permanent records , the tracking and retrieval of records stored in Army and Fort Stewart Records Holding Areas (RHAs) and the destruction of records that have reached their disposition timeline. Records are to be properly managed from its creation through its final disposition. AR 25-400-2, The Army Records Information Management System (ARIMS) governs the maintenance and disposition of Army records. The ARIMS website is the method by which Army personnel capture, preserve, and manage hardcopy/electronic records more efficiently and effectively. ARIMS uses web-based tools and technology to provide enhanced capabilities for elements to perform their records keeping mission.
