The Fort Stewart Retiree Appreciation Day will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Club Stewart, 405 Hero Road, Fort Stewart, GA.
Retiree Appreciation Day Schedule of Events: Registration will start at 8:00 am. The Speakers Program will begin at 9:00 am with welcome and opening remarks by the Garrison Commander followed by Command Presentation by MG Robert "Abe" Abrams. A Defense Finance and Accounting Services, Cleveland representative will give an update on retired pay issues. Following the speakers program, a No-Host lunch will be served at the Spartan Dining facility from 11:30am until 1:00 pm where Retires can sit and have lunch with some of the Soldiers from the Third Infantry Division. The "County Fair" will be conducted in the Palmetto Room from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm with representatives mentioned below. Closing the events for the day a tour of Warriors Walk will be conducted where Retirees will be asked to lay a wreath in honor of our fallen Soldiers.
Some representatives that will be available to provide services:
TRICARE, Delta Dental, Public Health (MEDDAC), DFAS, AAFES, Commissary, Flu shots will be available, MWR, VA Representatives, Troops to Teachers, State Veterans Service Office and ACS.

Pre-Retirement/SBP Briefings are held 3 times a month. Two at Fort Stewart and one at Hunter Army Airfield. We schedule individuals, they are not open to anyone.
Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield Retiree Council: The composition of the Retiree Council is 10 Officers, 10 Enlisted and 1 widow(er) and meets bi-annually. The purpose of the Council is to keep Retirees and Family Members up-to-date on changes in their rights, benefits and privileges and to foster good will between the retired and active duty communities. The Council also meets to discuss issues to be submitted by Fort Stewart to the Chief of Staff, Army Retiree Council.
