Command Sergeant Jefferson D. Moser entered the United States Army on 21 September 1986 from Dearborn, Michigan. He completed Basic Training and Advance Individual Training at Fort Benning, Ga as an Infantryman.

His duty assignments include 5th Battalion, 187th Infantry, Fort Campbell, Ky where he served as a Weapons Squad M60 gunner. CSM Moser was then assigned to 5th Battalion, 327th Infantry, Fort Richardson, Ak, where he served as a Infantry Team leader. Then assigned to 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry, Fort Richardson, Ak where he served as a Squad Leader. He was later assigned to the 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry, Fort Polk, La where he served as a Squad leader, 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry, Camp Casey, Korea where he served as a Squad/Section Leader, and 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Ga where he served as a Section Leader. CSM Moser left Fort Stewart and was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 9th Infantry, Camp Casey, Korea where he served as a Platoon Sergeant. He left Korea to join the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Ga where he served as a Platoon Sergeant/ Platoon Leader, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Ga (Iraq), where he served as a Line Company and a HHC First Sergeant, 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry, Fort Stewart, Ga, where he served as a Operation Sergeant Major, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT), Fort Riley, Ks (Iraq), where he served as a Battalion Command Sergeant Major, and 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry where he served as a Brigade Command Sergeant Major. His deployments and combat experience include; Operation Just Cause; Kosovo; Kuwait Desert Fox; Honduras; Initial invasion of Iraq; Operation Iraqi Freedom I; Operation Iraqi Freedom III; Operation Iraqi Freedom V; and Operation Iraqi Freedom - 09-11.

Command Sergeant Major Moser's civilian and military education includes an Associate Degree from Excelsior College of New York and graduate of: the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy Class #57; Ranger School; Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Course; Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course; Primary Leadership Development Course; Airborne School; Air Assault School; Battle Staff Course; Master Fitness Course; Instructor OperatorCourse; Light Leaders Course; Bradley Transition Course; and Combat Life Saver Course.

Command Sergeant Major Moser's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with Valor (1OLC); Purple Heart; Bronze Star (3 OLC); Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC); Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC); Army Achievement Medal (14 OLC); Good Conduct Medal (7th Award); Nation Defense Service Medal (1BSS); Armed Forces Expedition Medal; The Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; The Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal (4 Campaign Stars); Overseas Ribbon (3rd award); Non-Commissioned Officers Development Ribbon (4th award); Armed Forces Service Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; The Valorous Unit Award (2nd award); Expert Infantryman Badge; Combat Infantryman Badge (2nd award); Ranger Tab; Airborne Wings; Air Assault Wings; Combat Action Badge; Order of Saint Maurice for outstanding contribution to the Infantry; and he is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club.
