Command Sergeant Major Jeffrey R. Dillingham is a native of Elkton, Kentucky and was born July 3, 1972.  He entered the Army in November of 1991 and attended Infantry Basic Training at Ft Benning, Georgia.

Command Sgt. Maj. Dillingham held a variety of positions throughout his career ranging from Section Sergeant to his current position as the 3rd Infantry, 7th Infantry Regiment Command Sergeant Major.  His assignments include two assignments at1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield Georgia, 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, 4th Brigade 10th Mountain, Fort Polk, Louisiana, 2nd Brigade 3rd Infantry Division, Ft Stewart Georgia.  His overseas assignments include five combat tours in Afghanistan and three tours in Iraq.

His military education includes Airborne School, Jumpmaster School, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer's Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer's Course, First Sergeant's Course, Pathfinder Course , Ranger School, and the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.

Command Sgt. Maj. Dillingham’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), Army Commendation Medal With “V” device, Army Commendation Medal( 2 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Iraqi Campaign Medal (3nd Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2nd Award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal (2nd Award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd  Award), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Valorous Unit Award, Master Parachutist Badge, German Jump Wings, Canadian Jump Wings, Combat Infantryman’s Badge.
