Colonel Allan M. Pepin graduated from Wentworth Institute of Technology’s ROTC program in 1988 as a Distinguished Military Graduate, with a degree in Architectural Engineering, and received his commission as an Aviation Officer. He attended the Aviation Officer Basic Course and graduated flight school in 1990 as an AH-1 rated aviator.
COL Pepin has served in a variety of conventional and special operations assignments that include: Platoon Leader, 3rd Squadron, 4th US Cavalry, 3ID, Schweinfurt, Germany (1990-1993); S2, 1-101st Attack Battalion and Commander, HHC, 1-187th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (AASLT), Ft Campbell, KY (1994-1996); Battalion Flight Operations Officer, Platoon Leader/Executive Officer (AH-6), SMU LNO, Battalion Operations Officer, and Company Commander (AH-6) within B Co and HHC, 1-160th, SOAR(A), Ft Campbell, KY (1996-2002); S3, 1-82nd Attack Battalion and S3, 82nd Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, Ft Bragg, NC (2003-2005); Regiment S3 and Regiment XO, 160th SOAR(A), Ft Campbell, KY (2005-2007); and Commander, 1-145th Aviation Regiment, Ft Rucker, AL (2007-2009).
COL Pepin has most recently served as Commander, 1-160 SOAR (A) (2009-2011).
He is a rated Master Aviator and Master Parachutist, and has earned the Combat Action Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Ranger Tab. His awards are typical for his time of service including combat deployments.
COL Pepin is married to the former Heather Ann Lewison from DePere, WI and has a stepson, Zachary Jaraczewski.
