(Friday, Saturday) 2018 WINTERFEST AT HOLBROOK: Enjoy the magic of the holidays at Winterfest on Friday and Saturday (Dec. 7-8).  Festivities will take place at the Holbrook Pond Recreation area and will include an interactive North Pole, hayrides, costumed characters, a craft market, pony and boat rides, s'mores and more!  (Friday) AFSBn CLOSURE FRIDAY: The Army Field Support Battalion (including the former Logistics Readiness Center) will close early Friday, Dec. 7.  The AFSBn offices/activities at Hunter Army Airfield will close at 1:30 p.m. and the offices/activities at Fort Stewart will close at 2 p.m.  If there is an emergency, please contact the AFSBn Deputy to the Commander, Ms. Nia Landry, (912) 210-6787.   

(Saturday) TREES FOR TROOPS AT FORT STEWART: Saturday, Dec. 8 is the Stewart Trees for Troops program sponsored by FedEx held at Newman Fitness Center, building 439. Two times are set aside for pick-up of trees (8-10 a.m. for those with voucher) and (10 a.m. – 12 p.m. for those without voucher). Trees will be handed out to Soldiers and Family Members (E1 – E6 only) on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of trees available, one tree per Soldier/family. Vouchers will be handed out on Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at Stewart Leisure Travel Office, building. 419 (Exchange Furniture Mall), 912-767-2841.  (Dec. 10, 11) FAMILY FUN TIME, BOWLING WITH SANTA: Bring the kids, bowl and hang out with Santa for some Family fun time at Stewart and Marne Bowling Centers. There’s no charge to visit with Santa, and you’re welcome to take photos with him. Free treat from Santa (if you’re good). Fees apply only if you play.

(Dec. 12) SUPPER WITH SANTA: Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m. Club Stewart extended an invite to Santa to join our families to enjoy a joyful supper before the big night! Good news is that he ACCEPTED and now Santa wants you to join him on Dec. 12 from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy a meal with the big man himself and get those last-minute photos and requests in before Christmas. Cost is $25 for 3 (1 adult and two children - under the age of 10) - additional children (age 18 and under) will be $10 per child.  Purchase tickets at StewartHunterMWR.com until Dec. 10. (Dec. 15 - Jan. 2) HOLIDAY GATE HOURS GO INTO EFFECT MONDAY:  The Director of Emergency Services would like to inform the community of the upcoming holiday hours for Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. Starting Dec. 15 until Jan. 2, 2019 the following gate hours will take place:

 FSGA:

  • Gate 1: Open 24 hours (no change from normal hours of operations)
  •  Gate 2: Closed (Mon-Sun)
  •  Gate 3: 0600-1800 (Closed Federal Holidays/ 25DEC18 and 01JAN18)
  •  Gate 4: Open 24 hours (no change from normal hours of operations)
  •  Gate 4C:  Closed (Mon-Sun)
  •  Gate 5: Open 24 hours (no change from normal hours of operations)
  •  Gate 7: Closed (Mon-Sun)
  •  Gate 7C: Open to DoD Card holders and Commercial Vehicle Traffic. Closed for weekends, Training and Federal Holidays (24-25DEC18 and 31DEC-01JAN)
  • Gate 8: 0600-1800 (Closed Federal Holidays/ 25DEC18 and 01JAN18)
  •  Gate 9: Open 24 hours (no change from normal hours of operations)

 HAAF:

  • RIO Gate:  Open 24 hours
  •  Montgomery Gate: Open 24 hours
  •  Wilson Gate: 0600-1800 Monday-Sunday. Closed Federal Holidays (25DEC18 and 01JAN19)

 

(Dec. 17 & 18) DECEMBER GARRISON COMMANDER'S EMPLOYEE TOWN HALLS: The Garrison Commander FS/HAAF will conduct Town Hall Meetings in December with all garrison employees.  Garrison employees are directed to attend and share thoughts and ideas with the Garrison Commander. Maximum participation from the workforce is desired in order for a multitude of viewpoints to be discussed.

The Town Halls are scheduled for Hunter Army Airfield,  Dec. 17, 10 to 11 a.m., Hunter Post Theater, and at Fort Stewart, Dec. 18, 10 to 11 a.m., Main Post Chapel.

LIBERTY REGIONAL HOMELESS COALITION SOCK DRIVE:
        Socks are the most needed, but least donated article of clothing for the homeless.  Help the LRHC Winter Relief Program by donating new children and adult socks and underwear.  Drop off donations until Dec. 30 throughout Liberty County, Hinesville, Midway and Fort Stewart at the following locations:
